Our Performing Arts students present several shows each year to a high standard.

 

Festival, 6 -16 June 2017

The Action Theatre Festival 2017 is a week of musicals, dance, drama and theatre showcasing work from all our courses across two weeks. 

 

As part of the final major project for the Performing Arts groups each performance is a reduced version of the show and five are directed by the second year Performing Arts students

 

All performances take place in the Platform theatre, Rugby College. (see how to get to us below)

 

Each night will consist of two performances, each lasting around 1 hour with a 20 minute interval in between performances.

Time

Evenings will start at 7pm with the  exception of Disney's The Little Mermaid which will start at 6pm.

 

Tickets are £7.50 or £5 concessions, OR buy an unlimited Festival Ticket for just £20 (£10 conc) and come along every night!

Show information
 

A Chorus line

Performed by the first year group and directed by Hayley Glover and Choreographed by Ruth Ditch. This musical takes place at an audition where 10 dancers are in the spotlight for director ‘Zach’ as he decides who will be in his final Chorus line. Each dancer takes to the stage to tell us about their life, dreams and struggles before the final line up is decided. Well known songs such as ‘One singular sensation’, ‘I hope I get it’, ‘Nothing’ and ‘At the ballet’ feature in this performance.


Disney’s ‘The Little Mermaid junior’

Performed by the level 2 group and directed by Hayley Glover and Choreographed by Ruth Ditch. This well known musical is based on the animated movie of the same name, featuring songs such as ‘part of your world’, ‘under the sea’, ‘kiss the girl’ and ‘poor unfortunate souls’ this is the story of Ariel and her dreams of becoming a human when she falls in love with a prince. The evil sea witch Ursula helps Ariel to gain her legs but at what price?

 


 

SEASON tickets

There are three season tickets available to purchase at the beginning of the season. These tickets will allow you to see all of our performances, as many times as you like.

Prices for seasons ticket are Adult £24.95 and Student £14.99.
