The average woman spends around £133,000 on beauty products and men around £75,030 in a lifetime and financial forecasts predict an 8.5% growth in the beauty industry by end of 2014.



The UK beauty industry employs around 1 million workers nationwide, working in a variety of settings. This ranges from high street salons, to health and country clubs, hotels and holiday resorts in UK and abroad, or cruise liners around the world. With experience and motivation other pathways open up working with leading brands in sales and training or you can branch out as a self employed entrepreneur.

Additionally the retail sector in fragrances, skin care, hair products, mens grooming and nail products makes the industry one of the most lucrative industries in the country.



Equally the spa industry is becoming recognised as a significant part of the hospitality and leisure sector with hotel, fitness clubs and day spas firmly established. Depending on your entry qualifications, you can start from Level 2, move to Level 3 and onwards to a Foundation Degree or even a BA degree, or hop off into employment after successfully completing any level.
