Angela Joyce

Angela joyce

Group Principal and CEO

college director - moreton morrell college

Angela joined the group in April 2015 from her role as Principal and Chief Executive of Peterborough Regional College.

As the Principal and Chief Executive at Peterborough Regional College, Angela led the transformation of the Cambridgeshire based college since her appointment to the post in 2010. As the then youngest further education college principal in the country, she was noted in the college’s latest Ofsted report as having "had a profound impact" since her appointment in successfully raising the college’s ambition; establishing an ethos of continuous improvement and creating a strong and determined focus on improving learners’ outcomes.

Other notable achievements whilst at Peterborough include the operation of a Joint Venture Company to create a University Centre to grow higher education; the development of a profitable learning company subsidiary; the college becoming an approved academy sponsor; a marked increase in college success rates and; the college being rated as consistently ‘outstanding’ for financial health by the SFA.

Ms Joyce also led a range of innovative external projects working with a range of regional employers which included Caterpillar Perkins and partnering Anglian Water in leading the development of a University Technical College.

Roger Bevan

Roger Bevan

GROUP deputy principal, corporate services

college director - royal leamington spa college

Roger is an experienced finance professional, whose career is notable for its strong operational/performance focus, its high level of strategic engagement, for significant change management expertise in large complex businesses, a breadth of experiences and with a truly international exposure.

He worked for his last employer, Coats plc (a $1.7bn turnover group, operating in 70 plus countries) for twenty years and held key positions in a business undergoing massive change and challenge. This included handling both rapid growth units in emerging markets, as well as downsizing in developed markets. The business over this period went from being a largely UK based diversified conglomerate, into a global and focussed business, with a totally redefined geographic footprint and with less than 2% of its current activities in the UK. He held a number of key line and corporate roles during this period, all directly involved in both developing and implementing this transformation.

In the last 8 years as the group CFO, he also handled the change from plc status, through to private equity ownership (GPG investment group), and back again to the threshold of a new independent listed future.

Roger joined WCG in May 2014 as Group Finance Director, with a particular focus on helping to build a healthy and sustainable financial future for the group and its people.
