Building Design Award for Pershore College

14.12.2016 Pershore College's new building received an award at Wychavon DC's Design Awards.

Pershore Building Award 2016Wychavon announced the winners of its coveted Design Awards at the Civic Centre, Wychavon, at an event hosted by Chairman Cllr Frances Smith. 

The biannual awards, now in their thirteenth year seek to recognise design excellence in the district with over 25 high quality entries this year making judging all the more difficult.

Heading up the judging panel this year was Cllr Tony Rowley who was joined by other Wychavon councillors, members of the civic societies and independent design practitioners.

Cllr Tony Rowley chaired the judging panel said “This was a great year and we had a wide array of different entries. It was really tough to make the decisions, but we’re pleased that we have again been able to recognise the quality of the design work in the district.”

Winners received a commemorative plaque to put on their award winning building which they can display on the building with pride.

The award distinctions were:

·         Pershore College (new reception block) – Community Architecture Award

·         St James Church, Bishampton - Community Architecture Award

·        Flyford Green, Flyford Flavell – Community Architecture Award 

·         Hill End, Mount Pleasant, Childswickham – Sustainability Award

·         Veridis House, Hawford – Winner of Home (New Build) and Sustainability Awards

Commendations were also given to:

·         Pershore High School (new art block) in Community Architecture Award

·         Plots 1 & 2, Station Garden Nurseries, Blackminster in Home (New Build) Award

·         The Orangery, Hanbury Hall in Heritage Award

·         St James Church, Bishampton in Heritage Award
