Putting you first
We believe in putting the student first.
In support of this - we have lots of ways of helping our
students before, during and after they arrive.
- At induction for new students we promote opportunities to get
involved in lifestyle activities which we activate in theme weeks
like ‘Money Smart’, ‘Green Week’ and ‘Party Smart’.
- We have been commended on our work in support of our ‘Learner
Voice’ work by Ofsted, who said that we have “Outstanding
procedures to capture the views of learners and to incorporate them
into the work of the college”.
- We also support our students in the workplace, so that
employees on Apprenticeships or individuals studying professional
qualifications will have the support, help and advice they
need.
- Building on our core values we encourage all students to get
involved in making things better at the college.
- We train and work with class representatives and officers of
the Student Union, and empower and involve all students in
decision-making about things that affect them, ensuring that the
student voice is always heard.
- We also organise focus groups and encourage students to join
our committees so they can work with the staff to create the
best learning environment.
