of their choice. They are responsible for casting, directing,
choreographing and performing the show as well as organising, set,
costume, lighting, sound and all other backstage aspects of a large
performance. This year, they have chosen The Lion King.
This wonderful musical based on the Disney film tells the story
of Simba, a young lion cub who believing he caused the death of his
father leaves his homeland leaving his evil uncle Scar to rule.
Simba soon meets his saviours Timone and Pumba who look after him
and show him how to claim back the now destroyed pridelands from
his uncle and the vicious hyena's. Simba learns how to become king
and reclaim his homeland along with his mate Nala. This student
adaption of the London and Broadway musical contains the much loved
songs Hakuna matata, the circle of life, can you feel the love
tonight, shadowland, the morning report and more.
The show is being produced by the 2nd year performing arts students
as their final performance at the Theatre located next to starbucks
as the Rugby centre.
