Leamington nursery rated 'good'
The nursery at the Leamington centre has been rated ‘good,
with outstanding elements’ by Ofsted in a recent unannounced
inspection.
The schools inspectors highlighted as ‘outstanding’ the
nursery’s approach to safeguarding, the healthy environment it
creates for the children and its partnerships with parents.
The report said: “Children are very settled and content . . .
(they) make good progress due to the staff's good knowledge and
understanding . . . Staff work extremely well in partnership with
parents and are giving the utmost priority to continuing links with
other practitioners and settings.”

Helena Waterworth, Nursery Manager at Leamington, said: “We are
really pleased with the Ofsted report. The staff work really hard
to ensure that children and parents are happy with the nursery
provision – and it is very rewarding that this has been
recognised.
“The inspectors noted the improvements in outdoor space and
resources which we have invested in over the last few years. We aim
to involve parents as much as possible in their children’s learning
– keeping them informed about our activities and making sure we
know about what the children are learning about at home.”
This report follows on from a very successful Ofsted inspection
of the nursery at the college’s Rugby centre, which was rated
‘outstanding’ in June this year. College staff are now involved in
a pilot project called ‘Time to Talk’ with Warwickshire County
Council, ensuring all children can achieve their potential in
speech, language and communication.
The college nursery at the Leamington
centre caters for children from 8 weeks to pre-school and can take
45 children at any one time. As well as providing places for the
children of staff and students, the nursery is also open to the
public.
