ACCA top in world
One of our students is celebrating after her
accountancy paper was marked joint top in the world in a recent
examination.
Katie Pearce, who also received good marks in her other
exams, sat ACCA’s P3 Business Analysis paper before Christmas
receiving a staggering mark of 90%. More good news was on its way,
however, as she received a letter informing her that he paper had
been marked joint top in the world.

Katie is congratulated by tutor Mike O'Hara
Katie says: “I have always been interested in maths and
business, but I had children quite young, so I didn't go down the
traditional university and graduate route. I started studying
accountancy in the evenings and am currently balancing study with
full time work, bringing up two children and supporting my partner
whilst he studies law.
“I was absolutely ecstatic to learn that I had received the
joint highest mark worldwide for my P3 exam. I am really pleased
and it has really given me confidence to know that I am in the
right career for me. I look forward to seeing how far I can
progress.
“The staff at the college are very committed and they really
have time for you. I hope that my story will help to encourage
others to follow their dreams and achieve their full
potential.”
Tutor, Mike O’Hara, said: “We are very, very proud of Katie.
Lots of students do well on this course, but joint top in the world
is quite something.”
