Entry requirements

Our entry requirements depend on what level you would like to study.

English and IELTS

To join our English Language Programmes we need to know your level of English. When you complete your application form, please provide evidence of your English ability (IELTS, TOEFL, High School examination). You must be 16 years or more when you start the course.

Pre-University

International Foundation Programme (IFP)

Foundation programmes are designed for students who have completed a High School education in their home country but do not meet the entry requirements of a Bachelor degree.

To join our International Foundation Programme you must: be aged 17 years or over at the start of the course, speak and understand English to a good level and have a minimum IELTS score of 5.0. or equivalent English level qualification and have a High School qualification.

Higher Education Foundation Programme (HEFP)

The HEFP is designed for students who want to take a Bachelor Degree (BA, BSc, LLB or BEng/MEng) in the UK, often for a course with competitive entry grades.

You may have a school leaving qualification that is not always recognised for direct entry to degree courses. You will need a minimum of IELTS 5.5 to join the HEFP programme.

Petrochemical Engineering Foundation

To join the Petrochemical Engineering Foundation you must have achieved good grades in your High School or College exams. You will also need IELTS 5.0 or an equivalent English qualification.

A Levels

For A Level courses a satisfactory school record is required. You will need to have acheived the equivalent of 5 GCSEs A* - C including mathematics. You will also need a minimum English level of IELTS 5.0 or equivalent.
