Childcare

Nursery care is provided at the Leamington and Rugby Centres.

Both nurseries are in a separate building at the centre and have indoor and outdoor play facilities. We also have a garden where children are encouraged to take an interest in the natural things around them.

Rugby nursery

Each child is cared for individually by a key person. We are registered to take up to 45 children from eight weeks to five years old.

We use the early years foundation stage to plan for individual childrens needs - in accordance with OFTED guidelines.

The Rugby Centre

"A relaxed but stimulating environment" in which "children thrive" was how Ofsted described the children’s nursery at Warwickshire College’s Rugby centre, rating it 'outstanding'.

The report reads: "Children thrive in this inviting, relaxed but stimulating environment where every child is seen as unique, valued and included.

"They are confident, enthusiastic and actively involved in an extensive variety of stimulating activities available to them. This results in them making excellent progress in their development and learning."

"Staff have a lovely rapport with the children and demonstrate a great knowledge of how children learn, which enables them to effectively meet the individual needs of each child."

The Leamington Centre

In a recent unannounced Ofsted inspection the nursery at the Leamington centre was rated ‘good, with outstanding elements’.

The schools inspectors said the nurserys approach to safeguarding was ‘outstanding’ highlighting the healthy environment it creates for the children and its partnerships with parents.

The report said: “Children are very settled and content . . . (they) make good progress due to the staff's good knowledge and understanding . . . Staff work extremely well in partnership with parents and are giving the utmost priority to continuing links with other practitioners and settings.”
