Financial support
Some financial support is available to help with the
cost of transport to and from college.
If you meet the following eligibility criteria and live
further than three miles from the centre where you are
studying, you will be able to apply for a bursary to cover 50%
of the cost of your termly bus pass to get to college.
Eligibility criteria
You must be aged under 19 on 31 August before your course starts
and not in receipt of the transitional EMA payment of £20. However
individual cases of severe financial hardship may still be
considered.
You also must:
- have a household income of under £16,109 after deductions of
tax and National Insurance (school meal criteria) - add £1,500 to
this figure for each dependent child under age 18
or
- a means tested benefit including Housing Benefit, Working
Family Tax Credit (income limit £16,109) and Income Support.
Evidence of your financial position (which must be dated within
the last six months) can include:
- Income Support, ESA, JSA letters
- Working Tax Credit documentation from HMRC
- proof of Housing Benefit
- P60 or wage slips (at least two wage slips)
Please call into Student Services at any of our centres to complete an application form,
making sure you bring your evidence of eligibilty with you.
If you are applying for a Warwickshire County Council bus pass
and you do not meet their criteria but you meet the college
criteria, please continue to apply to the college in the same way –
a college bursary may still be available to you.
