Students may get free tuition if they get
benefits.
You may be entitled to free tuition on some Skills Funding
Agency funded full-time or part-time courses if you receive Job
Seekers Allowance (JSA) or Employer Support Allowance (ESA).
Changes to fee remission for 2011/12
NEW from Sept 2011
Due to recent government funding changes, the college can waive
tuition fees for learners in receipt of certain benefits.
The benefits identified are:
- Job Seekers Allowance (JSA)
- Employer Support Allowance (ESA)
- Income Support
- Council Tax Benefit (excluding single person
discount of 25%)
- Housing Benefit
- Employment Support Allowance
(contribution-based, not WRAG)
- Working Tax Credit
- Pensions Credit
This change applies to all government funded courses
including Access to Higher Education and English for Speakers of
other Languages (ESOL).
At enrolment, students in receipt of income-based benefits will
need to provide proof of benefit and that they want to enter
employment. This can be done using a self-declaration form.

out more contact Student Services on 0300 45 600

There are no reduced fees for recreational and leisure
courses.
The tuition fee is the cost of teaching - you may need to pay
for other things like exam fees and the cost of materials.
*Some materials and exam fees will still be payable.
