What are the benefits?
Apprenticeships can make your organisation more effective,
productive and competitive.
By combining training and employment, apprentices make a
positive contribution to their employer, whilst achieving a
valuable qualification. Generally, apprentices spend one day a week
at college and the rest of the time at work.
Benefits of employing apprentices
By training and investing in your workforce, apprenticeships can
fill your skills gaps and bring real benefits to your business,
even in uncertain economic times. Benefits include:
- cost effective recruitment
- development of a well trained and motivated workforce
- help to meet training costs
- increased productivity through better trained staff
- improved company performance
- demonstration of your commitment to staff development
- good return on investment – apprentices gain transferrable
skills and often rise up through the organisation over time to
become invaluable team members
Research by the National Apprenticeship Service suggests
that more than 80% of people are more likely to use a business if
it offers apprenticeships. To help customers identify these
companies, the service has launched the Apprenticeship
Employer Certificate.
Choosing apprentices
The recruitment and selection process aims to attract and select
the apprentices who will be best suited to your business and the
work you do.
After discussing your specific needs with you, we match your
requirements with the skills and experience of our apprentices,
then draw up a short list of the most suitable candidates.
Alternatively, you may wish to undertake your own recruitment
activities.
In both cases it is you, the employer, who makes the final
selection decision.
