Rangemaster
Founded in 1777, Rangemaster is one of the country’s best
known names in stylish cooking equipment, although they have now
expanded their range to include refrigeration, kitchen sinks and
built-in kitchen products.
Rangemaster chose Warwickshire College to help them boost their
customer service skills.
Consumer Services Manager Pat Rogers and a team manager have
taken team leader training, and 10 consumer services staff have now
completed their Customer Services NVQ Level 2 qualification. Six
more have started training. For some staff the training was free
through Train to Gain but other staff already had higher-level
qualifications which meant Rangemaster invested in it.
Some staff finished the training in six months and all in less
than nine months.
Pat said: “I think it focussed their minds on customer service
and giving the best value they could, and it helped them because
some had been out of learning for quite a long time.
“I think it’s good because it makes them think about the
day-to-day things they do and try to do them better. They have all
valued the training.”
The Warwickshire College training also inspired the company to
run some telephone workshops, and record all calls to do call
monitoring.
Pat said: “It goes hand in hand with providing a better service
for our customers.”
