Facilities

For an artist, space is fundamental – we need space to realise our creative ambitions.

At Leamington we have an art building that has been designed with a set of spaces that physically meet the creative needs of our students.

This environment has exceptional qualities of light and a high standard of equipment. We have 266 Apple Macs, three fashion studios, media and multimedia environments for making video, film, radio programmes, computer games.

There are also area designated for designing websites, creating animations and devising soundtracks. Our music department has the facilities for recording and live performance. Our excellent studios have analogue and digital equipment.

The ceramics, glass, woodworking and furniture studios can be used to achieve finishes and effects in traditional and contemporary styles.

The new Rugby centre building is finished and open for students from October 2010. The new art studios are on the third floor.

The feature quiff roof and barrel vaulted roof with roof-lights means that the art, fashion and textile studios have high levels of natural light.

The photographic studios can be used as one large space or divided into two smaller studios. The dark room and photo finishing room are across the corridor.

The large graphic IT studio and dance studi are on the second floor. The dance studio has a sprung floor, over 3m high ceiling, mirrors and a bar. Changing space and showers are also provided on this floor.

The 3D and ceramic workshops are on the ground floor.

The ceramic workshop has glaze facilities and three kilns - the 3D workshop has a plaster room and small bench tools.
