Health and social care

We have a strong reputation in the care sector. A common philosophy of all of our courses is professional competence underpinned by reflective practice.

We work closely with both local and national employers to ensure that training meets the needs of the sector and is valued by employers.

We are also a recognised provider by the National Skills Academy for Social Care, marking us out as a quality training provider in this area.

Working in health and social care

An essential element of all health and social care courses is the opportunity to work within your chosen sector.

We have a dedicated Placement Team who source appropriate placements for full time students and provide support throughut their courses.

A workforce development manager works directly with employers to provide training opportunities for existing staff and to support employers who wish to appoint staff to particular roles. A workbased learning manager supports apprenticeship programmes across the curriculum area.

Facilities

We have well equipped rooms with comprehensive ILT facilities and sector related resources that are used to support curriculum delivery, well qualified and experienced staff and a current, working knowledge of sector developments.

Course options

Part-time and full-time courses are offered at all levels - introductory level 1, practitioner Levels 2 and 3, foundation degree and managment training levels 4 and 5 - across our Leamington, Rugby and Henley-in-Arden centres, depending on demand.

Bespoke courses can be developed to meet the needs of a particular employer or sector, for example; dementia awareness, infection control and end of life care.

Students can choose the course that best suits them, from a wide range of options, including apprenticeships, certificates and diplomas, foundation degrees and work based learning qualifications. All introducatory and practitioner levels are open to both 16-18 years and adult students.

Within the health and social care curriculum area there are also opportunities for students to study for a Dental Nursing Diploma as a pre service course rather than as an apprenticeship.
