Apprenticeships
Choosing an apprenticeship will give you the
chance to train whilst being in paid employment, developing your
skills by working in your chosen industry.
As an apprentice, you will develop knowledge and practical
skills. You will work for an employer and attend training at
college on day release.
Funding for apprenticeships is available for young people, aged
16–25 years. If you are over 25, there are many options available –
contact us to find out what they are.
Children and young people
Students who want to qualify to work with children and young
people can study the Children and Young People’s Workforce Diploma
Level 2 or Level 3.
These nationally recognised qualifications for working with
children are offered at both our Leamington and Rugby centres.
Students also study functional skills in maths and English and
paediatric first aid.
They will work at a local school or nursery, receiving practical
training to develop their skills on the job and at day release at
college.
Dental nursing
Students interested in pursuing a career in dental health can
study for a Dental Nursing Diploma at Level 3.
Candidates must be working within a dental surgery for a minimum
of two days a week and have at least six months experience. They
will study at college on day release and also achieve maths and
English functional skills at Level 3.
Health and Social Care
The health and social care apprenticeship route is popular with
those working for the NHS and in social care settings.
The framework consists of a diploma at either Level 2 or level 3
, a technical certificate and functional skills.
Candidates must be employed in an appropriate setting and have
the opportunity for ‘off the job’ learning.
