These courses help build self-esteem and confidence, to
help you achieve qualifications that make the most of your
interests, talents and career ambitions.

Develop your essential skills - numeracy, literacy, study and
computing skills with programmes that provide a stepping stone to
higher education.
Previous students have enrolled onto courses like ‘Improve
your English’ and progressed on to study Access to
Higher Education - then continued their education for a degree at
university.
Access to Higher Education
This course is designed to prepare adults for degree level
study. It offers a rigourous A level equivalent preparation
for learners intending to progress to degree level.
Students will study in a supportive environment with other
mature students. The aim is to ease learners back into formal
education by building on existing experiences.
Students from this course have progressed to
university to study:
- nursing
- occupational therapy
- teaching
- social work
- psychology
- creative writing
- law.
Free Tuition for adults –
you could be entitled to free tuition at with the level 2 and 3
entitlement (*subject to the qualifications you already have.).

English and Maths
These courses are ideal for people having problems with English,
writing, maths, spelling or computer skills. They are free – take
place in the day or evenings – and you can join and leave at any
time during term time.
All levels of learning are welcome from beginners to GCSE.
Courses help to improve job and education prospects -
sessions tend to help with confidence building.
They are taught in a workshop environment - in small supportive
groups.
Qualifications can be taken at every level up to GCSE level 2
equivalent.
