Mel  

Mel Colley
Head of Department

Mel has a degree in Astrophysics from University College, London. He started teaching Physics in a Birmingham School in 1974. He moved into Further Education in 1986 and became Programme Area Manager for Academic Studies at Warwickshire College in 1998.

 

Mel's mission is for the students in his Programme Area is to have a positive, enjoyable experience and to be successful. He is a fanatical Northampton Saints rugby fan so check their result at the weekend before coming to see him on Monday!

     
Sue Starley  

Sue Starley
Senior Curriculum Leader 

Sue's subject is Law and she is a qualified solicitor and lecturer. She is also a Magistrate and sits in Coventry Magistrates’ Court one afternoon every week.

 

Sue is responsible for various A level subjects, the ILEX (Institute of Legal Executives) courses and the HEFP (Higher Education Foundation Programme) in Law, which are run in partnership with Warwick University.

Hazel Orrock
Senior Curriculum Leader 

Hazel teaches AS and A2 English Literature and shares an AS English Language and Literature course. In addition to being responsible for English in the Programme area she is senior curriculum leader for Art, Drama, Film, Media, History and Philosophy.

 

She is the Stairway to A level co-ordinator and tutor as well as tutor to an A2 group. She oversees the A level programme at Rugby College. She likes to encourage students to develop their appreciation of the arts and is an enthusiastic theatre goer herself, encouraging students to go to the theatre and enter writing competitions.

Charlotte Wilson
Senior Curriculum Leader 

Charlotte has three academic degrees: an honours degree in Combined Science from Leicester University; a postgraduate diploma in Statistics from UCL; and an MBA from the Open University, so she still remembers the joys and tribulations of what it is to be a student.

 

She has worked in Market Research and enjoys using examples from her own experience and current events in her lessons. Charlotte looks after A levels in Maths, Business, Law and Accounting, as well as the HEFP Science and Biomedical courses.

     
     
Sarah  

Sarah Ranson
Curriculum Administration Manager

Sarah joined the Academic Studies team in September 2010. Her role involves working with staff to manage student information.
