Young Apprenticeships
We offer Young Apprenticeships in Health and Social Care,
Engineering and the Motor Industry.
Gifted and Talented
Twilight courses are available in Law, Psychology, Photography,
Fashion and Textiles and Theatre Costume for gifted and talented
students.
My Choice
This course offers opportunities for disaffected learners or
learners at risk of exclusion or permanently excluded from school
who don't have a clear vocational interest. The course offers
qualifications in Personal Development, Literacy and Numeracy and a
project of the learners choice.
The 14-16 Diplomas
We are working with local schools to deliver the Diplomas.
These Diplomas are for students aged 14-19. They combine theory
with practical activities and work experience.
They will provide:
- the skills, knowledge and experience you need for college,
university or work, so you keep your options open
- the opportunity to learn in a creative and enjoyable way,
combining class work with hands-on experience
- essential knowledge and skills that employers and universities
look for
- opportunities to get work experience in industry
- flexibility and choice
an opportunity to study a subject that interests you without
committing to a particular career
- a qualification valued by industry and universities.
In partnership with local schools in 2009/10 we are involved
with the delivery of the following Diplomas:
- engineering
- hair and beauty
- creative and media
- environment and land-based.
The Diploma can be studied at Foundation and Higher level.
Foundation – equivalent to 5 GCSEs at grades D to G
Higher – equivalent to 7 GCSEs at grades A* to C
