the AS Level comprising of three units, which is a qualification in
its own right.
In the second year you study A2 level, including a further three
units which explore the subject in greater depth.
A2 units on their own don’t make up a qualification, but taken
together with AS units they make up a full GCE A level. Generally,
you’ll take four AS Level subjects in your first year, and then
concentrate on three A2 level subjects in your second year.
New Diplomas
The Diploma is a new qualification for young people aged 14-19.

learning at College, you will also get the chance to work in a
sector that interests you.
All Diplomas will require students to achieve a minimum standard
in English, Maths and ICT, complete a project and do a minimum of
10 days work experience.
The Diploma is available at three levels:
Foundation – equivalent to five GCSEs at grades D to G
