Equality and diversity
The college celebrates and values
diversity.
We will seek to ensure that individuals and communities
have equal access to learning programmes and facilities.
We will treat all students with respect and dignity and seek to
provide a positive learning environment free from discrimination,
harassment or victimisation.
We are committed to providing high quality education in a welcoming
and supportive environment enabling everyone, regardless of age,
race, religion or belief, gender reassignment, sex and sexual
orientation, learning difficulty or disability, pregnancy or
maternity to have the opportunity to succeed.
The college will make reasonable adjustments but it is expected
that students will be able to:
- operate safely, follow instructions and act independently to
ensure their own and others safety
- behave in a manner that is conducive to learning
- demonstrate the commitment, motivation and ability to benefit
and achieve from the programme of study
- effectively engage in all essential aspects of the
programme.
In our most recent Ofsted Inspection, we received a further
contributory Grade One for Equality of Opportunity. Inspectors
said:
‘The promotion and reinforcement of equality and diversity are
outstanding, including excellent and successful policies and
practices to increase the diversity of the student
body.’
